Job Description
Job Summary:
A Service Technician – Water Pump, Borewell, Motor Systems is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumps, borewell equipment, motors, and associated electrical and mechanical systems. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring proper functionality and efficiency of water systems in residential, commercial, agricultural, or industrial settings.
The ideal candidate should possess strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, knowledge of pump and motor technologies, and the ability to provide timely and accurate solutions to customer issues. This role requires hands-on work, field visits, and customer interaction to ensure satisfaction and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning:

Install new water pumps, motors, and borewell systems according to manufacturer guidelines and client requirements.

Conduct pre-installation inspections to determine the best setup and site suitability.

Ensure proper alignment, electrical wiring, and plumbing connections.

Test systems post-installation to confirm performance and operational safety.
2. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
-
Respond to service calls and customer complaints related to malfunctioning or underperforming systems.

Inspect equipment to identify problems such as motor failure, wiring faults, mechanical wear, suction issues, airlocks, or contamination.

Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, flow meters) to detect electrical and hydraulic faults.

Analyze root causes and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
3. Repairs and Maintenance:

Repair or replace defective parts including impellers, seals, bearings, wiring, and control switches.

Conduct preventive maintenance such as lubrication, descaling, cleaning, and tightening of components.

Service both submersible and surface-mounted motors, booster pumps, monoblocks, and centrifugal pumps.

Check and replace worn-out pipes, valves, and fittings as required.
4. Customer Support and Service Reporting:

Explain system issues and repair work clearly to customers in a non-technical manner.

Provide usage tips, maintenance advice, and system care instructions to end-users.

Maintain accurate records of service work completed, parts used, and time taken.

Generate service reports, job cards, and customer feedback forms.
5. Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols when working with electrical and mechanical systems.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, boots, and safety goggles.

Follow local regulations and company policies for environmental safety, water disposal, and equipment handling.

Report potential hazards or recurring faults to supervisors.
6. Inventory and Tool Management:

Maintain proper use and care of service tools, meters, and instruments.

Keep track of spare parts stock, report shortages, and request replacements.

Ensure availability of necessary parts before visiting customer locations.
7. Collaboration and Communication:

Coordinate with service managers, electricians, plumbers, and other technicians during complex installations or overhauls.

Communicate effectively with office staff for scheduling, invoicing, and customer updates.

Provide feedback on recurring issues or faulty products to the manufacturer or procurement team.
