Job Description
The University invites applications for Laboratory Assistant positions from highly motivated candidates to work in the Centre for Integrative and Translational Research (CITRes). This centre will include a state-of-the-art modern facility for research using multiple animal models.

Qualifications
B.Sc. in Life Sciences or allied subjects with a minimum of 2-3 years post-degree work experience.
Skills & Competencies
Handling animal models such as rodents, zebrafish, rabbits
Laboratory management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision
Basic biochemistry knowledge for buffer preparation and running gels
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and execute them timely
Maintaining records and logs.

Other skills (candidates with proven expertise in at least one of these areas will be preferred)
Basic knowledge of Molecular biology (Isolation of plasmid and genomic DNA, RNA isolation, electrophoresis, biochemical analysis, PCR, genotyping), Immunohistochemistry (tissue processing, cryo-sectioning, staining, and immunostaining) are desirable.
