The social worker has to counsel the people they will be working with; like if a social worker is working with orphaned children, they will have to counsel them and asses their mental condition

Work closely with other professionals like doctors and lawyers whose help the victim might require
Design and develop social service programs in the place of their work
Educate the family of the victim on how they can help them recover
If the victim requires monetary aid, the social worker can put them in programs which will provide aid for them
