Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following positions on temporary basis for the following project:
Senior Research Fellow
1. Project Name: Remote Sensing and GIS based Input for Hazards, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (HVRA) for Tura, Williamnagar, Nongstoin, Nongpoh and Jowai towns in Meghalaya.
3. Essential Qualifications: First class in M.Sc. in Geography/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Disaster Management or equivalent. WITH Two years of research experience.
4. Desirable Credentials: Knowledge in data analysis for disaster management studies in NER region using Remote Sensing and GIS techniques.
5. Tenure Of The Positions: For Senior Research Fellow: These positions are purely on contractual basis and co-terminus with the project without any provision for regularization. Senior Research Fellows & Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for (01) ONE YEAR or the period of the Project whichever is earlier and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Senior Research Fellows & Junior Research Fellows shall not exceed FIVE years or project duration whichever is earlier.

Junior Research Fellow
1. Project Name: SISDP - update
3. Essential Qualifications: First class in M.Tech./M.Sc in Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Spatial Information Science or equivalent with First class Graduation in Engineering/ Science.
4. Desirable Credentials: Experience in handing Remote Sensing & GIS software, or Certificate/ Diploma in Geoinformatics and having knowledge of gathering field data with satellite data interpretation.
1. Project Name: Landslide Inventory, Susceptibility and early Warning of NE states (Remote Sensing and Field based)
3. Essential Qualifications: First class in M.Tech in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Earth Science or equivalent with Geology as Main/ Major subject in B.Sc. from recognized Institute in First class. OR First class in M.Sc. Tech in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Earth Science or equivalent with Geology as Main/ Major subject in B.Sc. from recognized Institute in First class. OR First class in M.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Earth Science or equivalent with Geology as Main/ Major subject in B.Sc. from recognized Institute in First class.
4. Desirable Credentials: Working Knowledge in Remote Sensing and GIS.

1. Project Name: Development of Malaria Dashboard Application in National level.
3. Essential Qualifications: First class in M.E./ M.Tech in Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics or equivalent or Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent. WITH B.E./ B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent or Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent or Geoinformatics/ Geomatics or equivalent.
4. Desirable Credentials: Working experience in Geoweb services/ Spatial Decision Support System/ Mobile Application/ Geospatial Dashboard analysis, etc
1. Project Name: Assessment of socio-ecological vulnerability to climate change among agroforestry managers along an altitude gradient in the Eastern Himalayas.
3. Essential Qualifications: First class in M.Sc. in Forestry/ Forest Science/ Environmental Science/ Ecology & Environment Science/Environmental Management/ Life Science/ Agriculture/ Botany/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics or equivalent with Graduation in Science in First class. OR First class in M.Tech in RS & GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Spatial Information or equivalent with Graduation in Science in First class.
4. Desirable Credentials: Knowledge of field sampling/ ecological data collection/ socio-economic survey, etc. or handing RS & GIS software.
5. Tenure Of The Positions: For Junior Research Fellow: These positions are purely on contractual basis and co-terminus with the project without any provision for regularization. Senior Research Fellows & Junior Research Fellows will be engaged initially for (01) ONE YEAR or the period of the Project whichever is earlier and is extendable for further periods based on assessment of their work and requirement of project. The maximum period of engagement of Senior Research Fellows & Junior Research Fellows shall not exceed FIVE years or project duration whichever is earlier.
