SRF/Intern job recruitment in  Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI).

Name/No.of Post : SRF/2

Name of the Project : NASF funded Project,Potential gene mining from salt tolerant grasses for improvement of stress tolerance in crops.

Essential Qualification : Master's degree in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biochemistry (M. Sc degree completed with thesis work in partial fulfillment of degree program) with 1' division of 60% marks or equivalent OGPA with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree. OR Candidates with 3 years of Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree with division or 60% or equivalent OGPA in above mentions subjects should be NET qualified OR Ph.D in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biochemistry

Desirable :

1 Experience of working in molecular techniques

2 Knowledge of operating bioinformatics tools

Remuneration : Rs.25000/-p.m +HRA for 1 and 2 year Rs.28000/-+HRA for 3 year

Age Limit : 35yrs for men and 40yrs for women

 

SRF/1

Name of the Project : The Farmers First Project Empowering farmers through selective intervention in salt affected agroecosystems of Ghaghar plains.

Essential Qualification : Master's degree in Agronomy/Soil Science/Soil & Water Conservation Engineering with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree. Candidates having post graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET qualification

Desirable:  Computer Knowledge and working experience at farmers fields

Remuneration : Rs.25000/-p.m + HRA for 1 and 2 year Rs.28000/-+HRA for 3 year

Age Limit : 35yrs for men and 40yrs for women

 

Intern/2

Name of the Project : CCAFS-CIMMYT Research Project Developing and defining climate smart agriculture practices portfolios in South Asia.

Essential Qualification : M.Sc in Environmental Science/Micobiology.

Desirable :

1 One year experience of analysis of soil chemical and microbial properties.

2 Experience of working in CA based climate smart agriculture.

3 Knowledge of Green House Gas (CHG) estimation.

Remuneration : Rs.15000/-fixed

About Company

Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI) is a premier research institute dedicated to pursue interdisciplinary research on salinity/ alkalinity management and use of poor quality irrigation waters in different agro-ecological zones of the country. The Govt. of India constituted an Indo-American Team to assist the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to develop a comprehensive water management programme for the country. As a follow up of these recommendations, it was decided to establish the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute under Fourth Plan period. The Institute started functioning at Hisar (Haryana) on 1st  March, 1969. Later on, it was  decided to shift this Institute to Karnal during October, 1969. In February 1970, the Central Rice Research Station, Canning Town, West Bengal was transferred to CSSRI, Karnal to conduct research on problems of coastal salinity.
