Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care and Monitoring:
-
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions and hospital protocols.

Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.

Assess patients’ physical and emotional health on a regular basis.
-
Observe changes in patients’ conditions and report them immediately to doctors or senior nurses.
2. Medication and Treatment Administration:
-
Administer prescribed medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments accurately and on time.
-
Monitor for side effects or allergic reactions and take immediate action when needed.

Assist in minor medical procedures, wound dressing, catheter care, and other nursing interventions.
3. Documentation and Records:
-
Maintain accurate and timely records of nursing care, medication administration, and patient progress.

Fill out charts, nursing notes, and electronic medical records (EMR) according to hospital standards.

Ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
4. Coordination with Medical Staff:
-
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and diagnostic staff for timely diagnosis and treatment.

Communicate patient concerns, lab results, or urgent updates to doctors as needed.

Assist during medical rounds, emergency situations, and code blue situations.
5. Supportive Care and Counseling:
-
Provide emotional support to patients and families, especially in critical care or palliative care settings.

Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication usage, diet, and post-discharge care.

Encourage and assist patients with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and exercise.
6. Infection Control and Hygiene:
-
Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, including use of PPE, sanitization, and waste disposal.

Ensure cleanliness of beds, linens, instruments, and surroundings.

Assist with sterilization and disinfection procedures.
7. Emergency Response:
-
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and alert the appropriate medical team.

Provide CPR, first aid, or stabilizing care until a physician arrives.
-
Prepare patients for emergency surgery, transport, or critical care transfer.
8. Ward Management (if applicable):
-
Maintain inventory of nursing supplies, medication, and equipment.
-
Assist in ward rounds, patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
-
Train junior nurses or nursing aides when assigned.
