Technical Sales Engineer
Job Description
- Search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximise client potential in designated regions
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
- Persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
- Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
- Calculate client quotations and administer client accounts
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
- Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required
- Arrange and carry out product training
- Analyse costs and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Sales Consultation:

Engage with potential clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business goals.

Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to customers.

Deliver detailed product presentations and demonstrations tailored to the client’s industry and needs.
2. Sales Strategy & Lead Conversion:

Generate new business leads and identify sales opportunities through cold calls, networking, exhibitions, referrals, and inbound inquiries.

Follow up on leads, build relationships, and convert them into long-term customers.

Develop customized proposals and quotations based on customer specifications and budgets.
3. Product Knowledge & Solution Selling:

Understand the features, benefits, and technical specifications of products or systems offered by the company.

Stay updated on changes in the product line, industry standards, and competitor offerings.

Suggest solutions and product configurations that best fit client applications or resolve technical issues.
4. Customer Support & Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Provide after-sales support, including installation guidance, troubleshooting, and training.

Act as the liaison between customers and the internal technical or product teams to resolve complex issues.
5. Technical Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare technical proposals, compliance documents, datasheets, and user guides.

Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, feedback, purchase history, and technical queries.

Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback for management.
6. Market and Competitor Analysis:

Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.

Recommend improvements in products, pricing, and customer approach based on market insights.

Attend industry trade shows, seminars, and networking events to promote products and gain industry knowledge.
