SKILLS:

Versatile in MadCap Flare a must
Experience with Markdown language and html desired
Versatile in Adobe products (Acrobat, Distiller, Frame Maker)
Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Researches, organizes, writes, edits, and produces technical documents for a variety of Affirmed Networks products. Documents may include: User Guides, Overview Guides, Administrator Guides, Installation Guides, Quick Start Guides, Interface Specifications, Deployment Guides, Troubleshooting Guides
Ensures technical documentation is accurate, clear, complete, and adheres to standards for graphics, coverage, format, style, terminology and overall quality
Interacts with developers, architects, quality assurance, product and project managers and others across the organization to continuously learn about the products and technology
Keep up to date on product changes, release dates, and requirements by interacting with customer support, QA, and program management
Deliver customer-focused documentation on time and with quality
Provides recommendations to continuously improve technical documentation

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read, write, and compile technical documents, including feature descriptions and release notes
Maintain communication with subject matter experts and other project team members
Experience writing technical content for end users, including reference manuals and user guides
Ability to set priorities and undertake complex tasks with minimal supervision
Strong product-oriented focus – willing to dive deep to understand our product line
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Creative, flexible, resourceful and professional
Excellent research and analytical skills and attention to detail
Able to work with minimal guidance and supervision
Awareness of technical communication trends
Experience with usability and user experience practices
Minimum of 5+ years in a technical writing role
