Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Debt Collection:

Customer Interaction:
-
Make outbound calls to customers with overdue payments on loans, credit cards, or other financial products provided by banks and NBFCs.

Establish contact with customers to remind them of their outstanding debts and explain the consequences of non-payment.

Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers while working towards collecting the owed amount.

Handle both soft collections (reminders) and hard collections (delinquent accounts).

Debt Recovery Negotiation:
-
Negotiate with customers to come to an agreement on repayment terms, including extensions, partial payments, or settlement options.

Offer payment plans to customers who may have financial difficulties, ensuring they understand the terms and deadlines.
-
Follow up with customers who have agreed to a repayment plan to ensure they are meeting the agreed terms.

Customer Support:

Provide information to customers about the specifics of their outstanding debts, including the principal amount, interest, and late fees.
-
Assist customers with understanding the various options for repaying their debt, including full settlement or restructuring the debt.

Address customer queries regarding payment methods, due dates, or account status.

Record Keeping & Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate records of all communication and payments made by customers.
-
Update customer information and collection statuses in the database or CRM systems.

Provide regular reports to the management on the progress of debt recovery, including the number of successful collections, follow-ups, and pending cases.

Compliance & Legal Awareness:
-
Ensure that all communication with customers adheres to banking regulations and debt collection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other relevant local laws.

Keep up to date with changes in banking policies and regulations related to debt collection.

Follow-up & Reminders:

Ensure timely follow-up calls to remind customers about upcoming payments or overdue balances.
-
Set reminders for follow-ups and escalate overdue debts to higher management when necessary.

Customer Relationship Management:
-
Build rapport with customers to foster positive relationships and encourage timely repayment.
-
Maintain professionalism even in difficult conversations, ensuring customers feel heard and respected.

Educate customers about financial management and available resources to avoid future payment issues.
