Job Description
Summary of Responsibilities
· This position is responsible for Die(stamping tool) preventive & Break down Maintenance. Builds, fabricates, and repairs tooling, fixtures, and other components as necessary to ensure the support of the plant highly automated production line tools like Transfer, Tandem & progressive tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge of all type die maintenance running on above automated lines.
Responsible to maintain the dies assigned to him.
Handling of Emergency breakdown of all type of dies (E.g. Draw, Trim, Blank, Pierce form etc.)
Knowledge of preventive maintenance of dies. Services, maintains, and test new or changed dies.
· Trouble shooting of dies during production support of the plant automated production lines like Transfer, Tandem & progressive tools.
· Break down maintenance of dies in house.
· Coordination with Tool Room supervisor from time to time.
Knowledge of Tool try out & proved the components.
Knowledge of welding related to press tool.
Knowledge & hands on of Conventional M/c. like milling, drilling, surface grinding welding, Lathe, Shearing machine.
Knowledge of Kaizen.
Knowledge of 5âs.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all tooling and fills out the pm sheet.
Operates a variety of small machines, tools and equipment.
Verifies conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments.
Modifies dies and tooling to conform to engineering changes.
Tryout of new die sets and tooling.
Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Perform all other duties as required
Qualifications / Education, Skills and Experience Required
4 years Diploma in tool & die making â DME, NTTF , ITI/NCTVT â Tool & Die Making.
Experience 06-08 years of related work in the automotive stamping and Press Shop.
