Job Description
Desktop Support Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities
Provide first-level and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions using Active Directory.
Install, upgrade, and patch operating systems and software applications.
Configure and support email clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 applications.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
Provide support for VPN, Wi-Fi, LAN, and remote access connectivity.
Perform regular system health checks, preventive maintenance, and asset inventory management.
Coordinate hardware replacements, warranty claims, and vendor support activities.
Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
Handle IT service requests and incidents through ticketing systems while meeting SLA requirements.
Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including device setup and user account management.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, antivirus updates, and endpoint protection standards.
Assist with software deployment, data backup, and recovery activities.
Support meeting room technologies, video conferencing systems, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Escalate complex technical issues to relevant infrastructure, network, or application support teams.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and IT assets.
