Job Description
Admission to Ph.D. Programme in Psychophysiology and Computation (Psychology/Physiology/Applied Mathematics) at the CPEPA (UGC) Center for “Electro-physiological and Neuro-imaging Studies Including Mathematical Modelling”, under University of Calcutta
Number of Post : 02 (two)
Eligibility: A consistently good academic record with Master degree in relevant subjects with at least 55% marks. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures. The students who have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examinations/NET/SET/SLET/GATE or have obtained DST INSPIRE Fellowship /Teacher fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil./M.Tech/M.D/M.E./ M. Pharm or equivalent examination shall not be required to appear at the Ph.D. entrance test. The experience of bioinformatics and computation biology is desirable. In case of candidates holding a qualifying degree from other Universities, admission for the Ph.D. Programme will proceed after determination of equivalence by the relevant University body and fulfillment of the admission criteria.
Examination: Examination will be for 50 marks (Multiple Choice based questions) of one hour duration and will be on the syllabus of M.Sc. in Physiology/Psychology/Applied Mathematics, University of Calcutta.
Fee : The candidate has to pay Rs. 100/- (in cash only) through a challan available from the University Cash Counter at the College Street Campus, C.U. A photocopy of the challan must be attached with the application form. Reservation in admission shall strictly abide by the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.

The University of Calcutta was established by an Act of the Legislative Council (Act No II of 1857) of the then British India. A supplementary Act empowering the University to confer some additional degrees was passed in 1860.
