Job Description
Applications are invited for engagement as Programme Officer on purely contractual basis in the Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre on Wildlife & Protected Areas at the Wildlife Institute of India, an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India (GOI). The position is for a period of one year but it can be changed as per the ToR of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, New Delhi.
1. Name of the Post: Programme Officer
2. Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science / Environmental Science/ Biological Sciences or any subject relevant to Wildlife Sciences from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. The candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of research experience on subjects related to wildlife science and protected area management.
3. Desirable Qualifications
(i) Ph.D. in Wildlife Sciences
(ii) Experience of working in National Parks/ Wildlife Sanctuaries;
(iii) Experience in documentation and publications;
(iv) Good computer knowledge with working experience of software related to Wildlife Sciences;
(v) Familiarity with the Environmental Information System; and
(vi) Experience in conducting capacity building programs.
4. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 46,690/ month. No other allowances will be given.
Age Limit:
Candidate should be below 45 years of age as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically handicapped categories will be relaxed as per the rules.
