- Developing and implementing an all-encompassing educational and counseling plan
- Conducting group or individual counseling sessions to assist students with problems or concerns
- Assessing students' attributes and helping them realize their strengths
- Evaluating the progress of students and reinforcing the sense of accomplishment
- Identifying behavioral problems or at-risk students and acting appropriately
- Studying and updating student records
