Recruitment Against “Cultural Quota” For The Year:2016-17
Discipline/Vacancy :
Dance – 1 Post
Instrumental: Percussion/Air – 1 Post
Educational Qualification: Passed 12th examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized board or Higher Education.
Professional Qualification:
i) Dance- Possession of Degree/Diploma Certificate in Dance from Government recognized Institute.
ii)For Music (Instrumental: Percussion/Air ) – Possession of Degree/ Diploma Certificate in Instrumental: Percussion/Air from Government recognized Institute.
Desirable : i) Experience in the relevant field and performance given on AIR/Doordarshan etc. ii) Prizes won at National level.
Age : 18-45 Yrs
Application Fee :(i) All candidates should submit with the application an Indian Postal Order(IPO) ( issued only after the date of this notification) except those mentioned in sub para (ii) below :Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of FA & CAO, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan. This Examination Fee is not refundable/transferable/adjustable under any circumstances. (ii) Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities, Women, Ex-Servicemen, Minorities{Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis)}, Persons WithDisabilities, and those belonging to economically backward classes(whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/-per annum) should submit with the application an Indian Postal Order(IPO)(issuedonly after the date of this notification) Rs. 250/- (Two Hundred Fifty Only) drawn in favour of FA & CAO, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works,Chittaranjan.Aprovision for refund will be applicable only to those applicants who actually appear in the written examination.
Selection Procedure : Eligible candidates will be assessed on the following basis :
i) Written Test: In written test, Questions will be of objective type which may include General Knowledge, General Science, General Mathematics, Knowledge of general English & Hindi Language, Professional knowledge, Reasoning and Aptitude etc : 50 Marks
ii) Assessment of talent in the relevant cultural discipline on the basis of Practical Demonstration.: 35 Marks
iii) Assessment of talent in the relevant cultural discipline on the basis of Testimonials / Prizes etc. : 15 Marks

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) is a dream of the nation?s visionaries, coming true. The planners of the Nation with their deep insight and foresight set out to build a Loco building Factory in West Bengal and CLW is the culmination of that vision. In the late thirties, a committee consisting of M/s. Humphries and Shrinivasan was appointed to investigate the possibility of establishing a locomotive manufacturing unit and to consider its economic viability. The initial project, at Chandmari, a place near Kanchrapara, in the state of West Bengal, could not mature due to partition, which inevitably necessitated a change of site.
