Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Assessment & Diagnosis:

Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of patients to evaluate strength, mobility, posture, balance, coordination, and range of motion.

Assess patient medical histories, lifestyle, and complaints to determine the root cause of dysfunction or pain.

Diagnose physical conditions and impairments using appropriate tools and evaluation techniques.
2. Treatment Planning:
-
Develop customized rehabilitation and treatment plans based on patient conditions, goals, and needs.

Set short-term and long-term goals for recovery and monitor patient progress.

Adjust treatment plans as required based on progress, setbacks, or changes in condition.
3. Therapeutic Interventions:

Use a variety of techniques such as:
-
Manual therapy and joint mobilization
-
Electrotherapy (TENS, ultrasound, IFT)
-
Therapeutic exercises and stretches
-
Postural correction and gait training
-
Respiratory physiotherapy (if applicable)

Train patients in the correct use of mobility aids like crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, or braces.

Educate patients and caregivers about exercises to perform at home for continued recovery.
4. Patient Support and Counseling:

Provide emotional encouragement and motivation to patients undergoing physical challenges.

Explain procedures and expected outcomes in clear, simple language.
-
Offer guidance on lifestyle changes, ergonomics, pain management, and injury prevention.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate patient records including assessment results, therapy goals, treatment plans, and session notes.

Generate progress reports for doctors, insurers, or patient files.

Ensure compliance with data privacy and documentation standards.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
-
Coordinate with physicians, orthopedic specialists, neurologists, occupational therapists, and nurses for integrated patient care.

Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and therapy planning sessions.

Refer patients to other healthcare specialists when necessary.
7. Hygiene and Equipment Handling:
-
Ensure all physiotherapy equipment is used safely and maintained properly.

Follow infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area.
