Job Description

Position: Trainee (Developer Relations Engineer)

Summary:

Developer Relations Engineers drive momentum for our products. The Developer Relations Team will work as part of the Product Management Team and each Developer Relations Engineer will report to an assigned Product Manager under the supervision of local Delivery Manager. This position will engage with developers and developer communities via email, and online forums to showcase the GrapeCity product sets, enabling developers to build successful applications. The Developer Relations Engineers will not only be passionate evangelists of our products but will also be the voice of the developers for GrapeCity by bringing developer needs and requests to our product management teams. This position requires good grasp over technology/frameworks/tools, good coding and debugging skillset, as code (irrespective of programming language) is the only communication language within the developer community.

This position is also responsible for adhering to and promoting GrapeCity’s vision and values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team member and supporting the continued growth of the company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Active association with Developers (external)

o   Manage and maintain relationships with developers (including existing as well as potential customers), fostering interest and providing product support to developer communities

o   Write code samples and build sample applications to help developers (including existing as well as potential customers) learn how to use our products

o   Assist developers in learning about our newest products and encourage their use of our beta programs

o   Learn complex technical information and communicate it in a readable, concise, and accurate manner

Active association with Developers (internal)

o   Relay feedback from developers to product managers in order to improve developer products Debug code to do cause analysis

o   Build internal and open-source code libraries

Developer Community Connections

o   Host hands-on sessions and webinars for developers

o   Actively use social media to promote the GrapeCity Developer Tools product suite

o   Act as the public face of GrapeCity Developer Tools by representing products at user groups and other forums

o   Other duties as assigned in support of the organization

Essential Skills/Qualification:

o   MCA/M.Sci IT/B-tech (IT/CS) with 75% or above throughout academics. Good Verbal and Written Communication skills in English.

o   Good Analytical and Logical skills.

o   Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving attitude. o Programming knowledge.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

o   Excellent problem solving and coding skills

o    Ability to understand requirements and develop sample applications/prototypes

o   Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o   Ability to build and manage strong relationships with strategic developer partners

o   Ability to work independently as well as part of a team o Strong attention to detail

o  Possess a high standard of ethical conduct

Responsibility and Decision-Making:

o   Working under direct supervision, responsible for managing strategic partner relationships with developers and successfully assisting product managers to improve developer products

o   Improving established relationships with developers to drive interest and sales of our products Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make sound decisions that evidence both

o   common sense and business knowledge

o   Manage time appropriately in order to complete projects and meet goals

Training Details

Before appointment all the selected students would undergo a training program as mentioned below:

Period: 3-6 Months

Program

Training period is ‘self-study’ scheduled program (not a class-room coaching though), which is guided under a technical mentor (1-1 training program). The trainees are provided with training topics, sessions and assignments to learn on technical language, products, process and work. There are daily/weekly reviews to evaluate the progress by mentors and/or evaluation group. The objective of this training program is to see if the trainees can learn and build skills in limited and closed environment and apply their knowledge to solve unfamiliar problems related to areas they underwent training.

On the successful completion of the training program, trainees are appointed as “Associate Software Engineer” on the basis of the skills they develop during their training program.
